Instruman (Pty) Ltd
Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) Compliant | Republic of South Africa
Instruman (Pty) Ltd is committed to fair dealing and full compliance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).
This policy applies to all goods supplied by Instruman to consumers in the Republic of South Africa and is displayed
in accordance with Section 49 of the CPA.
1. Statutory Rights — Six-Month Implied Warranty (Section 56 CPA)
In terms of Section 56 of the CPA, every consumer has an automatic, implied warranty of quality lasting six (6) months
from the date of delivery of any goods. This warranty applies whether or not the consumer was aware of the defect at
the time of purchase.
During this six (6) month period, if any goods supplied by Instruman:
- Are not of acceptable quality, in good working condition, and free from defects
- Fail to be durable and usable for a reasonable period given their nature and price
- Do not conform to the description provided at the time of purchase
Instruman will, at the consumer’s choice:
(a) repair the goods;
(b) replace the goods; or
(c) refund the consumer the full purchase price paid.
2. Defective Goods
A product is considered defective if it arrives damaged, does not function as expected, or differs materially
from the product description or images shown on our website.
If you receive a defective product:
- Contact Instruman within 48 hours of receipt to report the defect
- Return the product within 14 business days
- Select a repair, replacement, or refund once the defect is confirmed
Instruman reserves the right to inspect and assess returned goods before approving a claim.
Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Instruman will cover reasonable return shipping costs.
3. Non-Defective Goods — Discretionary Returns
In addition to statutory rights, Instruman offers a discretionary 7-day return option for unused, non-defective goods.
Conditions:
- Goods must be unused and in original, undamaged packaging
- All accessories, manuals, and components must be included
- No installation, modification, or signs of use
- Proof of purchase must be provided
A restocking fee of up to 15% may be applied. Return shipping costs for non-defective goods are for the customer’s account.
This discretionary policy does not limit or replace your rights under the CPA.
4. Software and Digital Licences
Software products, licence keys, and digital downloads are non-returnable once issued or activated, unless the product
