Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) Compliant | Republic of South Africa
This Shipping Policy governs the delivery of all goods ordered from Instruman and is aligned with
Sections 19–22 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), which regulate delivery,
performance, and risk in respect of goods supplied to consumers.
1. Order Processing
Orders are processed during business hours, Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.
- Standard processing time: 1–3 business days from receipt of payment or order confirmation
- Orders placed after 13:00 or on Fridays will be processed on the next business day
- Custom or built-to-order products may require extended lead times, which will be communicated at the time of order
2. Delivery Timeframes
Once your order has been dispatched, estimated delivery times are as follows:
- Gauteng & Mpumalanga (eMalahleni area): 2–3 business days
- Western Cape: 3–5 business days
- Remote or outlying areas: 4–7 business days (courier dependent)
Delivery timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond Instruman’s control, including
courier delays, weather conditions, industrial action, or load-shedding. Where delays occur, Instruman
will communicate promptly and liaise with the courier to resolve the issue.
3. Risk and Title — Section 20 CPA
In accordance with Section 20 of the CPA, ownership (title) and risk in respect of goods remain with
Instruman until delivery is completed.
Risk passes to the consumer upon delivery of the goods to the address specified at checkout, and upon
signature of receipt by the consumer or a person authorised to accept delivery on their behalf.
Instruman bears the risk of loss or damage while goods are in transit.
4. Damaged or Incorrect Goods on Delivery
Consumers are required to inspect goods upon delivery.
If goods are damaged or incorrect:
- Note the damage or discrepancy on the courier’s delivery manifest before signing
- Take clear photographs of the packaging and the goods
- Notify Instruman within 48 hours of delivery
- Retain all packaging materials for inspection if required
Failure to report visible damage within 48 hours may affect your claim.
Hidden damage reported within a reasonable timeframe will be assessed on its merits.
5. Incorrect Delivery Address
It is the responsibility of the consumer to ensure that the delivery address provided at checkout is
accurate and complete.
Instruman will not be liable for delivery failures resulting from incorrect or incomplete address details
supplied by the consumer.
If an order is returned due to an address error, Instruman will contact the consumer to arrange
re-dispatch. Additional delivery charges may apply.
